A demonstration of how to subscribe to the NWIITT RSS feeds using Outlook 2007
Navigate to the NWIITT RSS Feed Page and right click on the appropriate feed link (1).
Select Copy Shortcut from the contextual menu (2). This copies the URL of the link to the Clipboard.
Right click on RSS Feeds (2) in the Outlook Navigation Pane. (1).
Select Add a New RSS Feed from the contextual menu (3).
Ensure that the cursor is in the RSS location field (1) and press CTRL + V to paste the URL of the feed that was copied in an earlier step.
Click the Add button (4).
The advanced settings allow you to specify the feed name and the location to where feed items will be delivered. Cick the Advanced... button (2) to configure these settings. For more details please see the next step.
To complete the subscription and add this NWIITT feed to your Outlook feeds, click Yes (1).
If you do not configure the feed via the Advanced... button, Outlook will use default settings.
Feed Name - this will appear in the RSS Feeds section of the Outlook Navigation Pane. The default name is the name that was assigned when the feed was created.
Delivery Location - this is the name of the folder that items from the RSS feed will be delivered to. By default this is the RSS Feeds folder in the current PST, however, by clicking the Change Folder button (2), you can specify a different folder or a different PST file.
Click OK (3) to save any changes to the Advanced Settings.
An appropriately-named entry will appear in the RSS Feeds section of the Outlook Navigation Pane (1). The feed will automatically be updated as new items are added and deleted by the feed author.
To read an item, simply click on it (2) and the full text of the item will appear in the Outlook Reading Pane (3).
To delete a feed, right click on the name of the feed in the Outlook Navigation Pane and select the Delete option from the menu (1) . You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete the feed.
