Last year, Xpertise's revenue was £22.3 million and Parity's £18.6 million, giving them a combined income of £40.9 million. The largest UK training company QA-IQ hadestimated revenues of 63 million in 2007, but it nearest competitor in revenue terms was Learning Tree with £23.6 million.

Ian Johnson, chief executive of Xpertise, said: 'We are very excited about the prospect of joining forces with Parity Training. Parity Training has always been regarded as a very professional organisation with excellent staff, a very solid customer base and a strong presence in the market with respect to the training and services that it offers.

'With a pro forma combined turnover in excess of £40 million this will give the business a powerful position in the provision of IT technical, professional skills, soft skills and managed training services and will also create many opportunities for our staff as we move forward.'

Edited by Mike_Thomas - 25 July 2008 at 13:27
