Welcome to the Institute of IT Training North West Regional Site

The Institute of IT Training is the world's first professional body for IT training professionals. Launched in 1995, the Institute has made significant progress in developing and promoting high standards of excellence within the profession. The aim of the Institute's regional groups is to provide networking, learning and social activities at a regional level.

Regional Meetings

We meet on the last Monday of each month (unless it's a Bank Holiday) at The Old Pelican Inn, which is located on Manchester Road (the A56) on the Sale/Timperley border.

Meetings start at 7:30pm and last until about 9:30pm. The Pelican is actually a pub which also does very nice food - download the menu.

Online Meetings

We run regular online meetings, using Centra, a web-based collaboration and conferencing tool. All you need to participate is an internet connection (broadband or dialup) and a set of headphones or speakers.

Social Events

Just to show that there is more to us than IT training, we do from time to time run social events.

An Evening With NWIITT

So what does an evening with NWIITT involve? A typical meeting starts with an informal "tips, tricks and questions" - a chance for attendees to share IT-related knowledge and also seek advice from fellow IT professionals. The main part of the meeting is a presentation, lasting about an hour. We have covered a whole range of IT related topics and will continue to do so in the future.

The World of Learning Awards 2008

The World of Learning Awards will take place on Wednesday 19 November 2008. This year's Awards ceremony will take place at a new venue, the Paragon Hotel, a magnificent Victorian Gothic building in the heart of Birmingham. Now in its eighth year, the World of Learning Awards is your chance to demonstrate your successes and highlight the prowess of your training products, venues or solutions. By entering the Awards, you can promote your company's achievements and gain public recognition from the industry. More information here.
